We attended the Sevenoaks Business Show last March and had a very enjoyable day with lots of people coming to taste the famous Goddard’s pies! Kane and Sean manned our stand making sure all the pies were ready and hot for people to try. We were fortunate to meet pie and mash fan Cheryl Baker who also tried some of our pies and the article below appeared in the Chronicle newspaper. See you all next year!!
As we are members of the Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce, Goddard’s Pies were happy to be an exhibitor at the Sevenoaks Business Show last week. Kane and Sean arrived early to set up as we were offering free samples of our pies, including our ever popular buffet pies. We were expecting a good amount of interest from people as many Chamber members said they would want to taste the famous Goddard’s pie!
We were not disappointed and the pies disappeared fast as fellow members, exhibitors, visitors and members of Bucks Fizz descended on us.
Cheryl Baker was drumming up sponsorship for her many charity commitments and we were fortunate enough to have quite a long chat. Cheryl tucked in to the pies and surprised us all by saying that she used to regularly have pie, mash and liquor when she lived in London. Apparently, she even worked in a pie and mash shop at one time! Anyway, she had the pie and mash lingo so we knew it was for real.
Cheryl took home some extra pies for her family which we hope they all enjoyed.
We had some excellent feedback and comments from everyone at the show so we will definitely be appearing back in 2011. The last few pies were given to all the Theatre staff who busily work in the background to get events like this organised.

Party orders for our pie and mash just keep on growing and we had some great feedback over the weekend from people who had our pies at their halloween party. If you have enjoyed Goddard’s pie and mash at a party or function please let us know, we love hearing that our food is enjoyed by so many people. Jeff and Kane Goddard
A family business that has been serving traditional pie and mash in south-east London for more than 100 years is making way for a burger chain. Brothers Jeff and Kane Goddard served their final meal at Goddards Pie House in Greenwich on Sunday.
Goddard’s Pies started trading in 1890 and is still going strong today with Jeff and Kane Goddard at the helm. The brothers have secured a lease on new premises near Sevenoaks, Kent which will enable them to expand their pie and mash business during 2010.
Mick’s eels are sold to Goddard’s pie and mash shop in Greenwich, where Jeff & brother Kane gave me a real lesson in meat pie making. Hard graft, I spent the morning with the lads, but well worth the effort. They sell some 200 hundred per day all doused with liquor, warm boiled eels and chilli vinegar.
Ask about our buffet pies. Great tasting traditional pies, just smaller! Perfect for parties, weddings or office functions.
