New pie and mash delivery service now available

We have now officially launched our pie and mash delivery service which uses a nationwide courier to deliver chilled pie mash and liquor to your door.

After many requests, we are pleased to confirm this delivery service is now live. We have kept the menu choices simple for the time being but this will expand very quickly to allow larger orders. Currently you can select traditional beef pies or veggie with liquor or gravy, all food is hand made in our pie factory. The delivery service does not cover the whole of the UK but we can deliver to mainland England and Wales and some postcodes in Scottish Lowlands, please check before ordering.

The food you receive will be cooked and chilled and will be well packed with ice packs in a special box to ensure safe arrival. We will start by dispatching orders on a Wednesday for delivery to your door on Thursday. The food needs to be eaten within 3 days of arrival but can also be frozen. Heating instructions will be provided by email and also with your order and can be downloaded here.

We would love to hear your comments and suggestions about this new service so please get in touch. If demand is great enough we will add the most requested options or features. But for now, please visit our online pie and mash shop and buy the real deal to enjoy at home!

Goddard’s Pies at the Sevenoaks Business Show

We attended the Sevenoaks Business Show last March and had a very enjoyable day with lots of people coming to taste the famous Goddard’s pies! Kane and Sean manned our stand making sure all the pies were ready and hot for people to try.  We were fortunate to meet pie and mash fan Cheryl Baker who also tried some of our pies and the article below appeared in the Chronicle newspaper. See you all next year!!

Cheryl Baker enjoys a Goddard’s pie at Sevenoaks Show

As we are members of the Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce, Goddard’s Pies were happy to be an exhibitor at the Sevenoaks Business Show last week. Kane and Sean arrived early to set up as we were offering free samples of our pies, including our ever popular buffet pies. We were expecting a good amount of interest from people as many Chamber members said they would want to taste the famous Goddard’s pie!

We were not disappointed and the pies disappeared fast as fellow members, exhibitors, visitors and members of Bucks Fizz descended on us.

Cheryl Baker was drumming up sponsorship for her many charity commitments and we were fortunate enough to have quite a long chat. Cheryl tucked in to the pies and surprised us all by saying that she used to regularly have pie, mash and liquor when she lived in London. Apparently, she even worked in a pie and mash shop at one time! Anyway, she had the pie and mash lingo so we knew it was for real.

Cheryl took home some extra pies for her family which we hope they all enjoyed.

We had some excellent feedback and comments from everyone at the show so we will definitely be appearing back in 2011. The last few pies were given to all the Theatre staff who busily work in the background to get events like this organised.

Goddard’s pie and mash on LBC Radio

It’s been a busy couple of days for us culminating in Kane and Sean taking a trip up to the LBC Radio studios in London yesterday. Carefully carrying our precious bag of freshly made pies, mash, liquor and chilli vinegar for an appearance on the Tom Parker Bowles food programme at 4pm. We were invited on to discuss the tradition of pie and mash, jellied eels and, of course, for Tom to taste our food.

Kane took the hot seat just after the 4pm news and did a sterling job of talking to not only Tom but many of the people calling in for the following 25 minutes. The calls were varied with some just wanting to officially state their approval of pie and mash and how much they enjoy eating it. One caller asked whether vegetarian pies were available as the traditional pie and mash pie is made from minced beef.

Kane took it all in his stride and answered each question in turn whilst really wanting Tom to tuck in to the delicious pie and mash we had brought with us. Due the amount of calls and texts coming in there wasn’t really too much time for Tom to do the food justice, but he did taste at least some of our pie and mash and gave an approving nod and a smile as he ate the food whilst trying to simultaneously talk on the air!

However, it was presenter James Max and the LBC studio staff who seemed to appreciate the food the most with all tucking in to pie and mash after Kane finished at 4.30pm. Kane and Sean left the studio whilst the staff, fork and spoons in hand, happily polished off the rest of the pie and mash (with liquor).

Thank you to everyone at LBC who helped us yesterday with particular thanks to Tom, Matt and Zoe.

Goddard’s to offer pie and mash to pubs, hotels and cafes

Next year is an exciting year for us as we celebrate 120 years in the pie and mash business. Many of you will know we are moving to much larger premises in Kent to give us the scope to expand our pie and mash business.

During early 2010 we will be able to supply our traditional pie and mash to food outlets such as cafes, pubs, hotels, fish and chip shops and mobile catering units. As an owner of one of these outlets you will be able to benefit from our high quality traditional pie and mash food that so many people crave. As well as offering pie and mash on your normal menu you can also gain additional business from pie and mash parties and cockney evenings.

Goddard’s will offer a range of hand made pies to choose from plus authentic liquor, mashed potato & chilli vinegar. Stewed eels or jellied eels can also be supplied to complement the pie and mash meal.

We will help get your business off to a great start by passing on our years of experience in preparing and selling pie and mash. We will also be able to provide posters to help promote the new menu and include your businesses details on our own website, as an approved Goddard’s Pies supplier. We will update our website with more details during early next year. For more information on how pie and mash can enhance your food business, please call us on 01732 25 25 25.
