I can’t remember whether I thanked you or not, but your pies and mash (and jellied eels) were superb! 60 people, mostly South and East Londoners, and they all said how good the food was. I also did hot salt beef sandwiches with mustard and wallies. It was a proper old-fashioned feast and enjoyed by everyone!! Thanks again. I’m sure I’ll be in touch in the future. Please let me know about your website as it would be my absolute pleasure to write something, i have asked my friends and family if they have any suitable pictures but i think everyone was busy getting stuck in to the wonderful grub, i should have them soon so i will let you know.

Happy New Year firstly to yourself and all the family and team at Goddards!Thank you so much for all the hard work all of you put into making our day so special! We had the best time and the food and service was second to none! Everyone (and we do mean everyone) said how lovely, kind, polite and friendly all of you were and how delicious the food was. Even people who came back in the evening, who had not been there for the meal were asking for the name of the company and where we found you etc! I am pretty sure the majority of guests had seconds (and in a few cases I believe even thirds!) and we cannot recommend you highly enough!!
Thank you for putting a few aside for us – we had our own version of pie and mash the following day and ate the last ones on Christmas Eve – even having been in the freezer for 3 months they were still gorgeous! (I, Liz, would like to especially mention the cheesecake – that may well be the nicest cheesecake in the existence of the world!)
Thank you again for all you did (and for having to go up and down those stairs so much!)

The best day of our lives was made even more magical and memorable by the fantastic job Goddards did with catering. With our Eastend theme, we had asked for some seafood to start (jellied eels etc – much to the dismay of the groom) and Goddards sourced and served exactly what we wanted. The pie and mash was delicious as usual and the crumble is and remains the best we have ever tasted – and most of our guests agreed and still talk about it today. Everyone also talks about how great it was to get some ‘proper’ food at a wedding and this certainly helped keep people going until tea in the evening to give them the energy for the dancefloor. Jeff and Kane were a delight to deal with and couldn’t do enough to help make sure everything was right for our day. They worked really hard to make sure the timings, service and food was as perfect as it could be. And it was.
To keep in the family tradition, we recently popped in for our pie and mash top-up at their van in Greenwich with the newest addition to our family, our 14 month old son Ethan who shunned his delicious packed lunch for pie and mash. That’s our boy. When walking past a few days later (when it wasn’t open), he pointed to the Goddards hut and said yum yum yum. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
